California Starlink Satellite Launch by SpaceX Cancelled

California Starlink Satellite: SpaceX Aborts Starlink Satellite Launch from California, No Rescheduled Date Provided

SpaceX abruptly halted the scheduled launch of 22 Starlink internet satellites on Friday (Jan. 19) without disclosing a reason or indicating a new launch date. The Falcon 9 rocket, carrying the Starlink spacecraft, was poised for liftoff from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 9:15 p.m. EST. However, the launch was called off with less than a minute remaining in the countdown.

SpaceX, in a brief post on X (formerly Twitter), stated, “Standing down from tonight’s Falcon 9 launch attempt,” without offering additional details. The company has yet to announce a rescheduled launch date, although a pre-launch statement on its website mentioned “additional opportunities were available starting Saturday” (Jan. 20) at 9:00 p.m. EST.

This marks the second postponement for this specific Starlink mission, with the initial attempt delayed by 24 hours on Thursday.
