Eurydice

In Greek mythology, Eurydice was the wife of Orpheus, a famous musician and poet. According to the myth, Eurydice was bitten by a snake and died on her wedding day. Orpheus was so devastated by her death that he journeyed to the underworld to plead with Hades, the god of the underworld, to allow him to bring Eurydice back to the world of the living.

Hades agreed to let Orpheus take Eurydice back, but on one condition: Orpheus must walk in front of Eurydice and not look back until they had both reached the world of the living. Orpheus agreed, and the two of them set off on their journey.

However, Orpheus could not resist the urge to look back and make sure Eurydice was still following him. As soon as he turned around, Eurydice was pulled back into the underworld, and Orpheus was left alone in the world of the living, heartbroken and mourning the loss of his wife.
