Profile: Jaggi Vasudev is publicly known as Sadhguru. He is an Indian author and yogi. He is also called the mystic. He was born in Mysore, Karnataka, India.
He completed his education from the University of Mysore with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Since the year 1982, he has been teaching yoga in the southern parts of India. Sadguru has founded the famous Isha Foundation near Coimbatore, in the year 1992.
He studied at Demonstration School, Mysore, Mahajana Pre-University College and University of Mysore. He had a spotty attendance record in school and didn’t want to complete his post graduation, but indulged in business later. At the age of 13 he took yoga lessors from Malladihalli Raghavendra, practiced pranayama and asanas. At the age of 25 when he went up Chamundi Hill he had a spiritual experience, after which he quit business and began travelling to attain insight into this mystical experience. He travelled and meditated for a year and then made the decision to share his inner experiences by teaching yoga. Vijaya Kumari, his wife attained Samadhi during the year 1997. He has a daughter named Radhe who is a trained Bharatanatayam dancer.

Isha Foundation hosts a centre for Yoga, runs an ashram and is involved in a number of activities related to the environment, education and spirituality.
He has been a public speaker at the British Parliament’s House of Lords, at the United Nation’s Millennium World Peace Summit, the International Institute for Management Development and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the year 2007, 2017 and 2020 he has also spoken at the annual World Economic Forum.
