Author: Salil Desai
Profile: Salil Desai is an Indian novelist who writes murder mysteries. He is a columnist, a former journalist and an alumnus of FTII. He has written a number of short stories and also held workshop on creative writing and is also a producer of films. Salil Desai completed his education at the Film and Television Institute of India. He resides in Pune, India. The Body in the Back Seat is his debut novel which was published in 2011.
The author is well known for his popular Inspector Saralkar Mystery Series, which includes Killing Ashish Karve (2014), The Murder of Sonia Raikkonen (2015) and 3 and a Half Murders (2017). He have received great reviews over the years in The Pioneer, The Hindu, DNA, New Indian Express, First City and Bangalore Mirror. Various authors have also praised his work. The corporate world has appreciated the management training videos, dramatized by Salil. Intensive workshops are conducted in scenario and story design and creative fiction writing by Salil Desai. He has also indulged in film-making and screenplay writing at well known organizations, media and communication colleges and liberal art institutions all over India.
