Industries should have a system to get involved in the making or creation of a product. The main systems of an industry are inputs, processes and output. Input is what is needed to produce or create a product. It will involve physical or labour, capital finance or raw materials. Labour can be divided into manual and non-manual, skilled and unskilled and professional. Capital is the something connected with wealth and money and this can be money stipulated of property, goods, cash and even manpower. Raw materials are processed goods or products which are used in the industry.


Processes are the happenings or actions that take place to produce a product like watering crops or assembly of a car. It involves maintenance, packaging, transport etc. The output in an industrial system is the finished product which is sold to the consumer like a television, car, milk etc. and of course the profit. Industrial production is a calculation of the output of the industrial sector of the economy and the industrial product sector includes mining, manufacturing and utilities. Industrial production is an important tool for forecasting future Gross Domestic Product and the economic performance. The major banks measure inflation referring to the industrial production and high level of industrial production results in rapid and uncontrollable inflation.

Operations management is the branch of management which oversees designs and controls the production and redesign business operation in the production of goods or services. Waste management is an important subject in industrial production and it is the art of disposition of solid waste. It is the generation, characterization, treatment, reuse and disposition of the solid waste. There are many types of solid waste like residential, institutional, commercial, agricultural, health care, household risky waste and sewage waste. Proper management of these wastes is needed to reduce the risk it can generate on the health of the people, environment and the aesthetics.

There are many issues regarding the waste of different types like the generation of waste, minimization of waste, removal of waste, transportation of waste and recycling and reuse of the different types of wastes. A lot environmental problem has to be taken into consideration and proper education and training has to be given to the people concerned. Proper treatment of the waste has to be done and the storage, collection and transport and transfer have to be done in professional way so as to avoid any health hazards. Landfill disposal has to be done properly and proper planning and implementation has to be provided.

The waste management practices are not the same in countries, urban and rural and residential and industrial areas. Industrial waste is the leftovers of the industrial activities from factories, mills, mining operation, excavation etc. Waste exists since the industrial revolution and there are dangerous and not so dangerous wastes. Proper disposal of these wastes has to be conducted so that there is hazard of any type for the living creatures and the human beings. Authorities have to take special care to oversee that the wastes are disposed in the right way all over the world.
